Drop Off
When you arrive please make sure that you and your child are wearing a mask. Please stand on the dots located outside the gate (by the fenced preschool/prek playground). The teacher will open the gate and ask you to step forward. At that point the teacher will take the child’s temperature. As long as the child does not have a temperature of 100.4 or higher, the child will be allowed to enter the playground, and the teacher will sign your child in. At that point, you will need to say your goodbyes. Unfortunately, we will not be allowing parents into the play yard or the classroom at this time. “Good-byes” may be difficult at first. We suggest that you make it brief, cheerful and matter-of-fact, accompanied by assurances of your return. At the beginning of the school year, tears are quite common during separation; please do not be alarmed. Typically a child will cry for a short amount of time, and with nurturing care, comfort and a bit of redirection the child usually stops crying quickly and dives into playing. If for some reason we cannot calm your child down after a reasonable period of time, we will give you a call.
Pick Up
For our pick up procedures we ask that you pick up your child at the back gate (same place as drop off). Please make sure you have a mask on and stand at least 6 feet apart on the dots. We will bring your child to you at the gate at which time you will need to sign your child out, and immediately go to the car. We cannot have children and parents mingling and/or hanging out per regulations.
