The Hillsborough Recreation Department

The Hillsborough Recreation Department is a Joint Powers Agreement between Hillsborough City School District (HCSD) and the Town of Hillsborough.  Originally founded in 1979, Hillsborough Recreation has been servicing the Hillsborough community in multiple facets including middle school sports, preschool, afterschool, summer, and adult programming, as well as facility management.

Our mission is to provide quality recreational facilities and programs, and enriching opportunities to benefit the health and wellbeing of our community.

Hillsborough Recreation’s leadership structure starts with its executive director, Louann Carlomagno, (Superintendent of the Hillsborough City School District) and Recreation Director, Tony Giacomazzi.  Overseeing the work and providing support is the Hillsborough Recreation Commission consisting of five-members: two town council representatives, two school board trustees, and one community at-large commissioner.
