Piano Lessons :: Elementary :: Hillsborough Recreation Department

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This class is based on individual instruction. Music theory integrated with Ear Training will be taught, along with Piano Technique and Interpretation. Prompt acquisition of recommended material is required. Regularity, as well as quality of practice time is expected.

Irina Carrenca has a BA in Music Performance from the Buenos Aires Conservatory of Music; has received awards in piano competitions in Buenos Aires, New York, Fresno, Palm Springs and San Francisco, CA. She has performed solo recitals and Chamber Music in Buenos Aires and the Bay Area. She has been teaching for 20 years, half of that time has been with the Hillsborough/Burlingame community. Mrs. Carrenca has been a Faculty Member at the San Francisco Community Music Center, as a Piano Instructor and Ensemble Coach since 1987.

She is a member of the Music Teachers Association of California, Participant of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, Piano Teachers Federation and Carnegie Hall Royal Conservatory Achievement Program.
Preparation for CERTIFICATE OF MERIT is offered as well as performances opportunities.
